Yeah You Right

Yeah You Right is an all-live, high-energy cover/special events/party band hailing from the vibrant city of New Orleans. Known for keeping the dance floor packed from the first note to the last, Yeah You Right delivers an electrifying performance that makes every event unforgettable.

Formed in the early 90s, Yeah You Right began when Marc, Scott, and Chris Descant met in high school at Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, LA, though Marc and Scott had known each other since kindergarten. Their shared passion for music brought them together, and they quickly became a favorite act at the talent show.

Matt joined the band in 2005, shortly before Hurricane Katrina, and CO came on board soon after. The band faced lineup changes due to Matt's deployment to Iraq and his subsequent move to California for his Marine Corps duties. However, after Matt's retirement from the Marine Corps, the band reunited and has been going strong ever since.

Yeah You Right isn't your typical cover band. While they play many of the beloved standards, they also infuse their setlist with hip hop, rap, and a whole lot of fun. Their typical setlist includes an eclectic mix of artists like Prince, Bruno Mars, Black Eyed Peas, 90s grunge, Sublime, hip hop line dances like the Cupid Shuffle, New Orleans original bounce music, Kanye, Lizzo, Shaboozey, Miley Cyrus, AC/DC, and more. You never know what's coming next, making them the perfect band for a party and a great time!

From classic rock and pop hits to contemporary favorites, Yeah You Right's diverse repertoire ensures that there's something for everyone. The band's tight musicianship and engaging stage presence make them a sought-after choice for weddings, corporate events, festivals, and private parties.

Chris Descant

Born in New Orleans in the summer of 1978 to a musical family, Chris quickly developed a love for music, inspired by his grandfather, Pierre Descant “The Cajun Fiddler.”

Chris is a multi-talented musician who sings, plays guitar, keyboard, and harmonica. He met fellow bandmates Marc and Scott in high school, and they formed their first band, "Cajun Monkey Torture," during their senior year.

Over the past 30 years, Chris has honed his skills as both a talented guitarist and pianist, captivating audiences all over the Gulf South with his dynamic performances and innovative compositions.

Matt Davis

Born and mostly raised in Southern California, Matt grew up enjoying the mountains and beaches the state has to offer, and also lived in Colorado, where he developed a fondness for the Denver Broncos and started singing as a kid in church.

Inspired by his dad, who moonlighted as a karaoke host, Matt found his passion for singing early on. Matt joined the Marine Corps straight out of high school and traveled the world for a decade before landing in New Orleans in 2005 and joining Yeah You Right.

After deploying to Iraq and moving to California in 2008, Matt returned in 2015 and retired from the Marines in 2018, marking the eventual return of the original Yeah You Right.

A total nerd at heart, Matt enjoys following the new space race, tinkering with electronics, and fixing anything he possibly can, all while bringing dynamic vocals and infectious energy to every performance.

Scott Daigneault

Born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana, Scott became friends with Marc Ardoin in kindergarten and started playing guitar in the eighth grade. He met Chris Descant the same year, and the three began jamming together in their parents' garages and dens, forming an early love of making music with each other.

After playing together and with other bands throughout high school and college, Scott teamed up with Marc and Chris again in November 2004. Matt Davis and Chris Oncale joined the group, and Yeah You Right was born.

Scott enjoys playing guitar and singing for crowds, bringing a little fun into people’s lives. When he isn’t onstage with his best friends, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and riding fast on an all-terrain electric longboard.

Chris Oncale AKA “CO”

Born and raised in Marrero, LA (on the good ole Westbank), CO lived there until Hurricane Katrina hit, then relocated to Lafayette, LA. He is one of five siblings and has been playing bass for 25 years, having been in two other bands before joining Yeah You Right.

Besides playing bass, CO also books the band's shows, so be sure to get in touch with him if you want Yeah You Right to play at your next event.

When CO isn't rocking out on stage, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son. CO and his wife love going to concerts for both local bands and national acts. For the little free time he gets away from work, the band, and his family, CO enjoys watching a good movie (drama or comedy is his preference) or catching up on reality TV and crime shows.

Rock/alternative is his favorite music style, although he loves music from all decades and genres. Fun fact: CO won a Luke Bryan look-alike contest a few years ago and got to meet Luke himself. He entered the contest so his wife could meet Luke, but deep down, he really enjoys Luke Bryan's music too!

Marc “Big Hands” Ardoin

Born and raised in River Ridge, LA, Marc started playing drums at the age of 12. Inspired by his grandfather, Charles Deming, who played in the Farhad Grotto jazz band.

During his formative years, Marc took lessons from Ray Fransen and developed his skills through years of practice in drums, accordion, chimes, and anything rhythm related.

Fun fact about Marc… He’s known for his massive hands which he attributes to years of drumming, his unique grip technique, and repeatedly punching brick walls.

Marc has been the rhythmic backbone of Yeah You Right for over 20 years, while also lending his pristine voice to the band's rich vocal harmonies.
